BLOG - Euro-Label Basic V.S Strong

Basic or Strong? 100x150 or 100x210 mm? And how many labels do you need per roll? Discover our new affordable Basic line and the trusted Strong quality, so you can choose the right roll for your printer and shipment immediately.

At Euro-Label, we have always maintained high quality. A shipping label must print clearly, stay firmly in place, and ensure that a package reaches its correct destination without any issues.

You will now find that trusted quality under the name Euro-Label Strong.

At the same time, we see that more and more competitive prices are being offered and that customers are increasingly looking for a budget-friendly alternative. Not every shipment requires the strongest adhesive or extra protection against moisture, cold, and UV light.

That is why we are adding Euro-Label Basic to our range: a reliable and affordable shipping label for normal daily shipments.

This way, you can now choose the quality that suits your shipment, printer, and budget.

Euro-Label Basic: affordable and reliable

Euro-Label Basic is our new, competitively priced line of shipping labels. These labels are suitable for normal daily shipments from a clean and dry working environment.

Basic is a good choice when:

  • You use standard cardboard boxes
  • You ship from a clean and dry warehouse
  • Your packages follow a normal shipping route
  • The labels are not exposed to moisture or cold for long periods
  • You are looking for a reliable shipping label at a competitive price

Basic does not mean you are choosing poor quality. It is a good standard version for situations where the extra strong properties of Strong are not necessary.

This way, you only pay for what you actually use.

Euro-Label Strong: our trusted, strong quality

The quality behind Euro-Label Strong is one we have been selling for a long time. It is the trusted quality that many customers already know from us.

Euro-Label Strong features an extra permanent hot-melt adhesive. This adhesive bonds quickly and firmly, ensuring the label stays in place better during longer or more demanding shipping routes.

Strong is a good choice when:

  • Your packages travel longer shipping routes
  • A shipment passes through multiple warehouses or distribution centers
  • The labels are exposed to moisture or cold
  • You are labeling on a surface that is less smooth
  • The packaging is stored for longer periods
  • You want extra certainty that the label will stay on

Euro-Label Strong is produced in the Netherlands and is, among other things, FSC-certified, bisphenol-safe, UV-resistant, and biodegradable.

What is the difference between Basic and Strong?

The most important difference lies in the adhesive and the conditions in which you use the label.

Euro-Label Basic Euro-Label Strong
Affordable standard quality Trusted strong quality
For normal daily shipments For longer and heavier shipments
For clean and dry environments Also suitable for moisture and cold
Permanent standard adhesive Extra permanent hot-melt adhesive
Competitively priced Extra strong adhesion
For normal cardboard boxes Also for more difficult surfaces

Strong is therefore not automatically necessary for every shipment. Do you ship normal boxes from a clean and dry warehouse? Then Basic is often an excellent and affordable choice. Are you dealing with longer shipments, moisture, cold, or more difficult surfaces? Then Strong provides more certainty.

You are not choosing between good and bad. You are choosing the version that fits your situation.

Are Basic and Strong suitable for all carriers?

Yes. Both Euro-Label Basic and Euro-Label Strong are suitable for shipping labels from, among others:

  • DHL
  • PostNL
  • DPD
  • UPS
  • GLS
  • Other parcel services

It is, however, important that you choose the correct size. Our shipping labels are available in 100x150 mm and 100x210 mm.

When do you choose 100x150 mm?

The 100x150 mm format is the most commonly used format for standard package shipments.

This format offers sufficient space for, among other things:

  • The delivery address
  • The sender
  • The barcode
  • The shipping method
  • Sorting and route data

Do you mainly ship within the Netherlands or Europe? Then 100x150 mm is usually the right format.

Always choose the format for which your shipping software and label printer are set.

When do you choose 100x210 mm?

The 100x210 mm format is mainly used for shipments outside Europe, where more space is often needed for additional shipping and customs data.

Choose 100x210 mm when your software or carrier specifically generates a shipping label in this format.

Do you always have a large white space left over when printing your shipping labels? Then you might be able to switch from 100x210 mm to 100x150 mm. This way, you use less material and save on your labels.

Are you unable to change the format in your software or printer settings? We are happy to help you.

What is the difference between 300, 1,000, and 2,750 labels per roll?

In addition to Basic or Strong and the right format, you also choose the number of labels per roll.

Our shipping labels are available with:

  • 300 labels per roll
  • 1,000 labels per roll
  • 2,750 labels per roll

The more labels on a roll, the less often you have to replace the roll. However, a larger roll does not fit in every label printer.

Therefore, always pay attention to:

  • The core diameter
  • The maximum roll diameter
  • The space in or behind the printer
  • The number of labels you use daily

When do you choose 300 labels per roll?

A roll with 300 labels is compact and has a core of 25 mm.

This version is especially suitable for smaller desktop label printers and for companies that do not yet process large numbers of packages.

Choose 300 labels per roll when:

  • You ship a limited number of packages per day
  • You do not print labels every day
  • You use a compact label printer
  • You have little space around the printer
  • You alternate between different label formats
  • You want to try a new version first

300 labels of 100x150 mm

This version is suitable for small webshops, shops, and companies that print a limited number of standard package labels.

Do you send an average of ten packages per working day? Then one roll will last approximately thirty working days.

300 labels of 100x210 mm

This roll is suitable when your software or carrier uses 100x210 mm labels, but your shipping volume is still relatively low.

When do you choose 1,000 labels per roll?

A roll with 1,000 labels is a practical choice for companies that process packages daily and want to replace the roll less often.

These rolls have a 76 mm core and are larger than the rolls with 300 labels.

Choose 1,000 labels per roll when:

  • You send an average number of packages daily
  • You want to replace the roll less often
  • Your printer is suitable for a 76 mm core
  • You have a fixed packing or shipping station
  • You are looking for a good balance between roll size and capacity

1,000 labels of 100x150 mm

This is a popular choice for webshops, warehouses, and logistics departments that print standard package labels daily. At forty packages per working day, one roll lasts about five working weeks.

1,000 labels of 100x210 mm

This version is suitable for companies that use 100x210 mm labels daily. Because these labels are larger, the total roll also becomes larger. Therefore, always check whether the roll fits in your printer or on your external roll holder.

When do you choose 2,750 labels per roll?

A roll with 2,750 labels is intended for companies with high shipping volumes.

Due to the large number of labels, the roll needs to be replaced much less often. This saves time and prevents interruptions during packing and shipping.

Choose 2,750 labels per roll when:

  • You send many packages daily
  • The label printer is used for a large part of the day
  • You want to switch rolls as little as possible
  • You use an industrial label printer
  • You work with an external roll holder
  • You consume larger quantities of labels at once

2,750 labels of 100x150 mm

This version is suitable for larger webshops, distribution centers, fulfillment companies, and production companies that print many standard package labels. Do you send 250 packages per working day? Then one roll lasts about eleven working days.

2,750 labels of 100x210 mm

This version combines the 100x210 mm format with the largest number of labels per roll. As a result, the roll is large and especially suitable for industrial label printers or a setup with an external roll holder. For a compact desktop printer, this version is usually too big.

Which version suits your business?

You choose the right shipping labels by answering four questions.

1. What quality do you need?

  • Choose Euro-Label Basic for normal daily shipments from a clean and dry environment.
  • Choose Euro-Label Strong when you need extra adhesion or when your labels will encounter moisture, cold, UV light, longer shipping routes, or more difficult surfaces.

2. What format does your software use?

  • Standard shipments: usually 100x150 mm
  • Shipments outside Europe: often 100x210 mm
  • Always choose the format that your software or carrier generates

3. How many labels do you use?

  • Low consumption: 300 labels per roll
  • Average consumption: 1,000 labels per roll
  • High consumption: 2,750 labels per roll

4. Which roll fits in your printer?

Before ordering, check:

  • The maximum label width
  • The maximum label length
  • The core diameter
  • The maximum outer diameter of the roll
  • Whether the roll is placed inside or outside the printer

A larger roll is only useful if your printer can handle it.
